When one thinks about Spirituality, diet, nutrition and health are not always the first thing that comes to mind. Even so, the state of your well-being, has a great deal to do with what you will be able to achieve spiritually.

If you wake up in the morning groggy, or have to deal with brain fogginess, you may feel be less motivated to meditate, practice energy movements or other skills.

You may even find that you keep falling asleep as you move into a deeper meditative state.

Your Awareness won’t be as sharp, and you may be dragging you feet around all day, until your brain starts to get going.

While this delayed or dragged out process of you coming to your senses is happening, your Consciousness is still there in the background, your mind simply isn’t able to synchronize with it to draw upon it as readily as if you were fully alert.

If you want to say practice various mental or spiritual abilities and your physically or mentally tired, how accurate do you think you will be?

Will you get as great of an experience if you are refreshed or tired and stressed out?

I’m sure we both agree that is is best to be as fresh, awake and alert as you possibly can be, as early in your waking moments as possible.

In order to live the most Spiritually-centered life, you need to have as fit and healthy a body as possible, since it is your Avatar, your Vehicle or Vessel, for your Soul and Consciousness to explore this Reality, this Illusion, this Dream of “God”.

So, how can you as a Spiritual Seeker take better care of your body and health?

FORMULATE AN OPTIMAL EATING PLAN FOR YOURSELF AND STICK TO IT

If there is only 1 thing you will take away from this section on body health, it should be to eat as healthy a diet as possible. Now I’m not a fan of ‘fad-diets’, but everyone should have an eating plan in mind, and not just mindlessly graze on any and all food.

Part of self-awarness is self-observation, and what this means, is watching yourself and knowing what foods make you lethargic, which foods give you better focus, what times of day are better for you to eat or not eat, what combinations of foods digest better in your body than others, and so forth.

Do not be afraid to try new eating plans, as long as you do your research and observe yourself. In the world of dietary plans, there are many sources that are for and against certain styles of diets. The only constant is that each person is different and you must find what works best for you.

That being said, here are some of the key elements that have worked for me to develop a healthy and vibrant lifestyle.

1) EAT LOTS OF VEGETABLES

Whether you are trying to lose excess weight or just want to maintain a healthy body, eating vegetables at most if not every meal is crucial. Most of the vitamins and nutrients we get from our diets come from vegetables, especially the green ones!

They contain valuable fibers to aid digestive health, and help detoxify the body. Ultimately you will be healthier if you have a good portion of a variety of veggies each day.

Fruits are also important to add to your daily diet. If you have a sweet tooth like myself, a piece of fruit is always the better choice to reach for than a processed snack food.

Its interesting that desserts and snack foods were usually only something that one ate on rare occasions. Sweets weren’t something people ate on a daily basis, and when they were eaten, it was in smaller quantities than we see today.

With our Modernized society, of Convenience Stores, donut shops and fast food everywhere, not only are the portion sizes getting larger, we find ourselves eating more for Taste than for our physical nutritional needs.

2) EAT FOR YOUR WHOLE BODY NOT JUST FOR YOUR SENSE OF TASTE.

When we reach for foods that really taste good but have low nutritional value, we are really eating to satisfy cravings triggered in our brains and to satisfy our sense of taste.

This often results in excessive calories that harm the rest of our bodies. Plus the fast foods that we eat of often filled with toxic substances, preservatives, excess sodium, High Fructose Corn Syrup and other things that push our physical systems into extreme states.

Most of the illnesses humans suffer today are caused by pollutants entering the body and through our diets.

If we adopt healthy eating habits, not only do we fortify our bodies, but also provide it with the tools necessary to negate the detrimental effects of the toxins and pollutants we are exposed to on a daily basis.

3) TRY JUICING OR BLENDING IF YOU DON’T LIKE TO EAT VEGGIES

I’ve been Blending and Juicing ever since I was 16. In high school it made me more alert and better able to perform mentally, and gave me sustained energy throughout the morning.

This of course has to do with what I put into the smoothies and shakes, making sure there is a good balance between vegetables and fruits, and other supplements I’ll add to the mix.

That being said, if you don’t have a juicer, try it. The first 30 minutes after drinking fresh vegetable juice will show you just how potent juicing can be.

Now, some will say that you are throwing away the best part of the vegetable by juicing, and in some ways that can be true, depending on the vegetable, but this is also why I blend.

I first started with blending. This allowed you to keep the fibers and eat the whole plant, not just the juice. You ate less vegetables, and absorbed less nutrients per serving, but you also saved money. So there are pros and cons.

What I do now is I combine the 2.

I’ll drink juices by themselves and blend separately and at times, I’ll add my juice to my smoothies.

I’ll juice a wide variety of leafy green veggies, like kale, spinach, lettuce, mint, Sweet Chard, and add other veggies like cucumber, celery, beets, carrots, fennel bulbs, lemon, ginger, etc.

Then I’ll add to a smoothie spinach or kale, with berries, a little flax seed or sunflower, a liquid vitamin/mineral supplement and a greens powder supplement.

Then I’ll add the juice to the smoothie instead of adding Ice or Water as a base, and blend it all up and have it for breakfast.

Sometimes I’ll throw in a Banana, some Almond Butter and Almond Milk, and have even thrown in some Avocados, apples, peaches and grapes into the mix.

Recently I’ve been experimenting with adding a teaspoon of Coconut Oil for the sustained energy boost, and that seems to be a good addition to the mix.

This ‘coxtail’ gives me energy and wakes me up as well as any caffeinated drink would, but in a more subtler way. You don’t get a huge energy rush followed by a crash. You just feel good and awake.

Now, I’ve tried many different types of smoothies and juicing recipes, and for me, it is a fast, easy way to add a larger quantity of vegetables and fruits into my diet.

For your lifestyle, you need to decide what will work for you. Personally, I haven’t seen one person regret juicing or blending. It just doesn’t happen, because they are so healthy for you.

The only complaint is that it will make you go to the bathroom the first few days, but that is usually because your body needed to clean itself out and finally you gave it what it needed to do the job properly.

The old adage, “You are what you eat”, is true. What you eat and drink is what your body has to use to rebuild cellular structures and repair the body.

Your entire body for the most part gets fully replaced every 7 years. Many of the structures in your body will have been replaced several times over in 7 years.

So your body is always under construction. If you give it toxic materials to do the job, you will end up regretting it later down the line.

Start now, and make the decision to feed your body what it needs to do its job to the best of its ability, and it will surprise you with just how powerful your bodies Natural healing mechanisms are.

4) DRINK ENOUGH WATER EACH DAY

This is a topic for debate, but on the conservative side, 64-100 ounces or 3.5L-5.5L of water each day depending on your weight is recommended.

Since your body is 70%+ water, it needs to replenish and replace its water content frequently. If your diet isn’t very clean, the body needs water in order to dissolve, absorb, and/or flush out toxins and waste from the body.

Many health problems can be prevented from adequate hydration. In order to ensure you are drinking enough water, try having 2 cups of water as soon as you wake up. I have a bottle of water prepared for me beside by bed, and I drink it as soon as I wake up.

Something you can try out for digestive health is to drink Warm Water in the morning. If you don’t like the taste of warm water, add a little lemon. That will aid with elimination of the toxins and waste your body has built up while you were sleeping.

5) GO TO BED BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND SLEEP 8-9 HOURS A NIGHT

I don’t know about you, but I’m a night owl. I am not a morning person. When I go to be early, I find i have an easier time waking up in the morning, and have time to relax before I start my day.

Spiritual practices can be exhausting to your brain and body at times. Sometimes you can push yourself too much, such as in the practicing of mental abilities, and you need to give your brain time to rest.

Just like muscles grow at night when you sleep, not while you are working out at the gym, your brain grows the fastest neural connects during your sleep.

As you work to develop yourself Spiritually, the time you spend sleeping also allows your Sub-Consciousness to process your experiences, making connections with other things you’ve learned.

This will allow you to have greater breakthroughs during your spiritual practices, and Self-Reflection sessions.

As well, being well rested means that you will be able to meditate in the morning or anytime in the day without falling asleep during the meditation because your brain and body were too tired.

6) EXERCISE 4-5 TIMES PER WEEK

It has been said that regular exercise is the Ultimate Medication, and its FREE!

Most illnesses or symptoms that a person may experience can be lessened or even negated by an adequate amount of exercise on a regular basis.

Exercise strengthens your cardiovascular system and allow oxygen and nutrients to be fed to the brain more rapidly and efficiently.

All of the organs of your body run better the more fit you are. Hormones and neurotransmitters in the brain are released that allow you to enjoy a calm, centered state of mind more easily.

This can then be translated into an easier time quieting the mind and entering into deeper states during meditation more easily.

Stress chemicals and other disrupting toxins are minimized through regular fitness training, and adds to your overall well-being.

7) TAKE A BRAIN-NEURAL NETWORK ENHANCING SUPPLEMENT

For the Past 7 years, I’ve taken a Brain, Nervous System Supplement called Magnetic Pill.

It has amplified my levels of mental clarity, focus, concentration, and energy, which has all translated in a deeper, more profound Spiritual Practice.

You could say its my secret weapon, for it literally allows the brain to grow more neural connections, repair nerve damage, and enhance the bio-magnetic field of the body.

What does Magnetism have to do with Spirituality?

When we say the body has an Auric field, we have to realize that the body also has a Bio-Magnetic Energy generated by the body and brain, and the two are interconnected.

Magnetism is an aspect of what holds our reality together. It is part of the underlying cogs and mechanisms that generates our Holographic Universe.

It is everywhere. There is a wide range of Electro-Magnetic Spectrum, even the light that we see with our eyes is a small sliver on the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum.

From our Brains and 6th sense, to the clock-work patterns of Galactic formations, everything is related to Electro-Magnetism.

It is this ocean of multiple frequency Electro-Magnetic fields that connect us to each other, to the planet, the galaxy and the Universe.

In Spiritual Circles, we may not call it Electro-Magnetism, and may simply call it Energy, or frequencies. When you look at the Universe from the perspective of Magnetism, and our brains and Electromagnetic Transceivers, you can see how Spirituality and Science really do compliment each other.

For example, when we look at the Universe and compare it to the brain, we see striking similarities.

brain cell

Just as our brains generate thought, emotion and Consciousness via Electromagnetic signals and frequencies to create a static field of Consciousness, so too our Planet generates its own Electro-Magnetic Field of Consciousness, and even the Universe.

Bio-Magnetic signals is also how the cells and organs of the body communicate with each other. There are cells in the body called Magnetosomes (Look it up) that essentially are like cellular towers for our bodies. They support and assist the relaying of data and information accross the body.

The greater quantity of the organisms we have in our bodies the stronger the signals can be relayed, so our the different parts of our bodies can follow the instructions of the brain more efficiently.

This can have a wide range of effect on our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, but the real question in, HOW can one affect or increase the level of Magnetosomes in their bodies to optimize their health?
